About the course

This course is part four of four intermediate courses featured in the Continuing Program. Prerequisites for joining are both courses in the Foundations Program (or equivalent experience).

It is strongly recommended that each course be taken in a self-organized group of 3-7 people. Groups may be affinity, collegial, coven, collective or some other form. This recommendation comes from years of observation and participant feedback.

Taking these courses in groups creates forms of support throughout the study, strengthens the likelihood of practice (as individuals or as groups), and enhances and amplifies learning and self-reflection.

Registration closes April 10th

About The Wylder Edge

Thus far, we have undertaken a meandering learning about the systematic disenchantment from the magical wild and the animate web of life, some subsequent consequences of that collective historical trauma, and the impacts of conflict and abuse in perpetuating the hex.

Working again with five symbols to hold the span and sustenance of the material, this course wanders through etymology and languagecraft, and compels the participant into considerations of alliance, allegiance, the compact of responsibility, and bequeathment to the ones to come.

We will explore ecosystemic thinking, and how biomimicry lends to re-enchantment. The enchanter/d seeks to sense for, be gifted, and develop kinship and earth ways. We consider how speciesism and anthropocentrism contribute to suffering and loss for the beyond human world, and how we can intervene in that.

Expect pleasure and joy. Expect life-enhancing kinship. Surrender to and embrace the con-spiring of this song, opening your path and invigorating your purpose.

In the Spell:

Coax and conjure the remnants of your ancestral peoples' magics and musics and craft them into the time of now. Weave with others and make a garment of feeding the holy in each day.

In this course, designed as a bookend complement to the BTNE, we will endeavor to deeply sense “the Song” and to rekindle the skills of intuitive, mytho-poetic responsiveness necessary for embodied, shimmering kinship within that web.

To understand the vessel of your being as an oracle, a diviner, a dreamer and one meant for wonder, awe, play, and devotion with the beyond human as a creature.

Simply put: to bless, offer sustenance, ask permission, make magic, and pray for alliance with and allegiance to, the good earth, our only home, whose song has been muted for so many, but never eradicated.

Participate in a liberation cosmology and emancipate yourself from the enclosures of imagination as an archetypal storyteller and a spell-crafter.

Feeling our way into a song of interdependence by examining insights from thinkers and feelers, and your own collective wisdoms. Cradle to grave, spore to fruit, growth and decay. Alive in us, there is a comfort of our place in it all. Every being according to their nature.

The world is not disenchanted, rather, certain human individuals and cultures are disenchanted from the omnipresence of dynamic relating. It is desirable, possible, and necessary to re-enchant oneself and return to shared power as part of the council of all beings.

Queer the static, enliven the frozen, engender and animate life. Fluidly move through the synaptic mycelial connections, pulsing with creative possibility for the challenges of this time of unraveling.

Wylder: a particular and fluid consciousness. A descriptor of the everyday motions toward a self-determined animist witchcraft. The indigenous soul awakened and ensparked; compelling the enchanter/d to inhabit the world as though you are needed.

The world needs humans to be in the sacred, polyphonic cacophony of creative evolution & as artisans and curators for the emergence of post-capitalist cultures of spirit-spoken relatedness

Expect to connect with, nourish, and trust your unique magical ways of sensing the languages of the Earth. Expect to engage in the musicality of such welcomed mystery. Unspell linear time and embrace the gifts of reflexive consciousness as a birthright.

The six week course will offer presentation, discussion questions, experiential learning opportunities, art, handwork, trance, and offerings.

@raincrowe

Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the Earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”
